Hoopwick Farm Shoot
Every year a group of friends organise the Hoopwick Farm Clay Pigeon Shoot to raise money for GUTS. It’s a great fundraiser, usually raising in excess of £10,000; in fact in our 40th anniversary year, 2023, the shoot raised over £20,000! It’s an event that has grown in popularity since it decamped from its original venue at Bisley, thanks to John and Nina Camping kindly offering to host it at Hoopwick Farm.
Competitors arrive early morning for registration, coffee and a bacon butty, followed by the shoot. The traps are professionally supplied and organised to ensure 100% safety and interest. The traps are spread across fields interspersed with hedgerows and coppice. When all the teams have competed at all the traps, score cards are handed in and we head back to the barn, where lunch is provided by Conisbee Butchers. After lunch there is prioze-giving for the shoot winners and then the serious business of fundraising gets underway with a grand auction, which includes a fantastic variety of really unusual prizes.
All in all a really fantastic day out!
THE DATE FOR THE 2024 SHOOT WILL BE PUBLISHED SOON – WATCH THIS SPACE!
