This five-day expedition takes place in the Sierra Nevada National Park, trekking to the summits of three of Spain’s highest peaks, Veleta, Alcazaba, and Mulhacén – the highest peak in mainland Spain.
After arriving in Lanjarón, you’ll enjoy dinner and a briefing on the adventure ahead. A good night’s sleep and then you will be ready to take on Los Tres Picos over the next three days! Veleta is first on our list, with a rough and rocky path to the summit at 3,394m. Next up is Mulhacén, mainland Spain’s highest peak at 3,482m, offering unbeatable views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range from the summit. The final trekking day is the toughest, reaching the top of Alcazaba (3,371m), with a steep climb to the summit plateau after a trek through the lush green valley of Siete Lagunas.
Crossing the Sierra Nevada is going to be a tough challenge, but the view across Spain’s mainland from its highest peaks will provide all the motivation you need!
There are two funding options for this extraordinary charity challenge, both of which cover flights, meals and accommodation:
- You pay £199 registration fee then fundraise to cover the balance of £2050. GUTS pays the trek costs to Global Adventures, retaining all funds plus Gift Aid due on the sponsorship you have raised.
- You self-fund by paying Global Adventures the trip costs of £1025 yourself (plus the initial £199 registration fee) and then fundraise for GUTS, aiming to raise a minimum of £1025. GUTS retains all the sponsorship you have raised plus Gift Aid. This gives you more flexibility if you feel you don’t have time to fundraise the full amount.
Whichever method you choose, we can help you set up your fundraising page and provide you with ideas and support in your fundraising efforts.
Please get in touch with the GUTS office on 01483 408316 if you would like to take part.
There are various dates to choose from throughout the year.
