One of the earlier signs of bowel can be passing blood in your faeces or poo. There can be numerous other reasons for blood in you poo and if this only happens once or occasionally, you should be aware but not too concerned. If it persists for three weeks or longer, ask your GP for an urgent appointment so that it can be checked out, especially if your poo is black or dark re or you have bloody diarrhoea for no obvious reason
SEEK URGENT MEDICAL ADVICE BY CALLING 999 OR GO DIRECTLY TO YOUR NEAREST A&E IF THERE IS A LOT OF BLOOD – FOR INSTANCE, IF THE TOILET WATER TURNS RED AND YOU CAN SEE CLOTS OF BLOOD.
