Bolt Round the Holt

 Bolt Round the Holt

Bolt Round the Holt is our annual fundraising run . The run is entirely off-road and follows a lovely woodland course through Alice Holt Forest, Farnham.

We are pleased to be working once again with aat events, who run the event on the day as well and look after the registration process; they organise cycling, running and triathlon events across the south east and have been looking after Bolt since the first run in 2009.

If you are thinking about taking part for the first time, don’t just take our word for it –  you can find out what a well-organised and enjoyable event this is from the runners themselves on the Runners World ratings page, where 96% said they would do it again.

About the run

The Bolt offers distances of 21k (half marathon), a 21k team relay, 10k and 5k, with a 5k juniors’ race and a 1k fun run for children aged 6-9. Cani-cross runners are also welcome. Registration fee includes medals for all finishers, on-site parking, chip timing, swift results on line, winners prizes, massage, secure bag drop, energy gels, on-site refreshments.

Bolt Round the Holt 2018

The date for the 2018 run is Saturday 24th March. This will be our tenth anniversary Bolt so we are aiming to raise at least £10,000. GUTS runs a Family Colon Cancer Clinic which provides regular screening, advice and support for people that have a particularly high risk of developing bowel cancer because of their family history. The funds raised from Bolt Round the Holt 2018 will help support this project throughout 2018.

Junk the junk for GUTS!

Do you know someone who’s a bit too fond of junk food? If you’re taking part in the run, please do help us reach our target by encouraging your friends and family to give up one (at least!) fast food meal and donate the money to GUTS instead by sponsoring your run. It’s a great way to support our work but it’s not just good for GUTS – too much red and processed meat has been identified as the number one cause of preventable bowel cancers, so it will be good for their own guts too! Your sponsors can either donate directly to the appeal using this link or follow the link yourself to set up your own fundraising page using the Fundraise for this Appeal button or if you prefer to do it your fundraising face-to-face, you can download Bolt18 sponsorship form.

Business sponsorship opportunities

If your business would also like to become involved in The Bolt 2016, opportunities include sponsoring a water station or kilometre marker or having an
information/trading point in our event village. Find out more by downloading our 2018 Sponsors’ info here or call Nerissa Deeks on 014873 408316/ 07734 433202.

 Volunteer marshals

We couldn’t hold this event without the help of our brilliant volunteer marshals, who get to enjoy all the fun and excitement of the race without actually having to do
any running! Duties include manning water stations, helping at the registration point and bag drop, acting as a pointer along the course and generally offering
words of encouragement to any flagging runners. Our marshals are so well thought of that they picked up several special mentions on the Runners World ratings page.
If you would like to be part of the Bolt volunteer marshal team we would be love to hear from you – please get in touch by telephone on 01483 408316 or drop us an email.
